The eve of the Eve

Today was spent cleaning, organizing, cooking & getting ready to do more of the same tomorrow, at least until 6:00 pm, when all of our family will gather under our roof for celebrating, sharing stories of the holidays & pulling out old memories (for good or bad!).
I am so excited to have everyone here to fill the house with laughter & love. This is a new tradition for the family, as times change, families grow, children age to adulthood & the elders pass the reins down to the next generation, to host the celebrations. We have seen so many changes through the years & they are always difficult to accept. Change is always a challenge, but holidays seem to be the worst. We cleave to the way things have always been, like a small child clings to his mother's leg. This is the security & assurance of our past; the thread that remains unbroken, or so we think, until a change must happen. It is inevitable, but unwelcome. For now, I will cherish this 'new' tradition, for as long as it is possible.
I wish you all a fabulous holiday and a brilliant New Year.

Acceptance

Ah, today was a sad, but not unexpected, situation. I left a small gift at my dear Toni's door, for Christmas & it was stolen. I know it was not wise, but I truly wanted to have an optimistic event, in which what I believe about human nature, could be softened. Was not to be. I have no bad feelings for the one who did this, just sadness. I hope that they find the crystal candle, which I wanted my dear friend to have & know that she would always have light in her life & dainty little earrings for her sweet, supportive daughter. Little things, of no great monetary value, but a gift from my heart. Here's to whoever felt the need to abscond with the little booty: May it bring you great joy, for that is what the mission was. May you light the candle & feel warmth & brightness, in your life. Wear the earrings & let the world look upon you & smile. For surely, your need of a free gift was greater than your integrity & character. What did you really steal here? Not nearly as much as you lost. Truly, you only stole from yourself. Have a Merry Christmas!

A Good Day for Deep Thoughts...Who Am I?

It could be the most practical thing you have ever done in your life - knowing, finally, who you are. Finally, having the answer to the ancient question "Who Am I?"

It is said that this is the only question God has.
Who Am I? I Am That I Am. I Am What I Am. I Am Who I Am. I Am. Who Am I?

And so the wheels of experience, creation, are set forth to experience Who I Am.

Back to earth. Of what practical use is it for you to have the answer to this question?

On finally knowing who you are, you become a content, happy, deliberate creator of your life. You understand yourself, your life, and humanity as a whole. You feel safe in the universe. You feel at home, having found your spot and purpose. You have peace and power, joy and love for yourself and life in general. Your problems take on a new dimension as you master them. Life becomes pleasant, abundant, peaceful yet lively, and very, very enjoyable! And much, much more.

And once you know who you are, you know what the rest of life is - and beyond.

No one can tell you Who You Really Are. Words can only point you in a direction. Only you can take the final step of knowing, experiencing, being, Who You Really Are. Only you. but then again, you were born to do so, you have the inherent ability to do so.

In fact, it is the easiest thing to do, although it appears to be the hardest. Why is it the easiest?

Because it takes no time and no effort to be Who You Are.

You already are who you are. Even in denial, even when only experiencing a human fragment of Who You Really Are, you already are who you are.

It only takes time and effort to be who you are not.

What a Glorious Day...

I always wondered why my mother and father were so adamant to be at every choir performance, musical or scholastic event while I was in school. There were times where I was so proud of my achievements and awards that I was so excited to show my parents what I had accomplished...and then there were those times that I mumbled under my breath "Oh no, I am so embarrassed", especially when my father would yell out "That's my daughter".

It was not until today, that I truly realized why all this meant so much to them all those years. I was able to experience the joy of motherhood at its finest. My little baby is now in preschool and took part in his first ever Christmas concert. To see the look on his innocent little face and the joy of singing and having fun and being part of such a great social environment. Ahhhh...he is growing up.

I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to be a huge part of my sons lives inside and outside of the home. The days that I long to work a little more are trumped by the days that I get to experience the wonderful things in life. Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer and Jingle Bells will forever be a special memory for me.

New Year, New Attitude

Ladies, it occurs to me that it is soon to be a new year & that is always embraced as a new beginning; a clean slate; a time of change & of course, resolutions.
There was a time, when my generation of the late 60s & early 70s, decided to "find themselves", only to wander aimlessly & flail at the edges of others ideas.
Not being one to live in the clouds, it came to me that life isn't about finding yourself, it is about creating yourself. Look around, look inside. All that you ever need is given to you. It is just a question of recognition. Be inspired & you will inspire others.

Sleepless At the Pines......

It's 4:09 AM and I can't get to sleep....have to work at the salon today and Friday! This medicine I'm on makes my stomach a little queasy even if I eat something (maybe I need more than a banana!)

Anyway, I was thinking I would LOVE for our group of fabulous friends to get together sometime over the holiday, (yes I know there is not a lot of holiday time left but we can make our own holiday whenever we want!) for some good food and great cheer. How about getting together for lunch or dinner some afternoon or evening at Easton? Give me your thoughts and I will coordinate a fun time. We can all bundle up and maybe even hand out those fabulous "feel good thoughts" I shared with you all and/or we could go caroling in and out of the stores....how fun would that be! CRAZY...but fun!

Please let me know your thoughts asap because I'm already excited!

Everyone has a Quote to Share

Everywhere I look these days, there is another great quote that speaks to me in that moment...sometimes I even have a few of my own, I'd love to share with others, but I don't write it down and then it is gone...

Here is one example.... If you have a quote of your own or someone else's that is speaking to you in this moment, please share! :)

"Asking is the beginning of receiving. Make sure you don't go to the ocean with a teaspoon. At least take a bucket so the kids won't laugh at you."
Jim Rohn1930-2009, Author and Speaker

The Steps of Life

As a mother and wife, my children and family come first. Love and cherish every moment that you can with them, wiping their tears, holding them close and praying every day for strength, health and happiness.
As a pharmacist, my patient comes first. Being the one that he/she can depend on to provide the best care possible. Placing trust in me to create a caring and honest relationship and to provide continuous care for them makes me feel worthy.
Yes, I have suffered loss in my life and have sacrificed much to be at home with my children...but I am still that motivated individual who loves a challenge. My love for life and what the future may bring is all I need to keep me going. Whether it is being a mom, a pharmacist or building my Mary Kay business, I know I can do anything that I put my mind too.
Look to the future. Learn from your past. Move forward and live life ALWAYS!

Mastermind Group

Napoleon Hill, author of Think and Grow Rich, first defined the mastermind as a “coordination of knowledge and effort, in a spirit of harmony, between two or more people, for the attainment of a definite purpose.”

The benefits of having a supportive mastermind group are plenty:
1.You have a group of people available to help you succeed.
2.You get the benefit of differing perspectives, input and feedback.
3.Your mastermind team can bring resources and connections to the table you might not have had on your own.
4.You receive accountability and inspiration from the group, thus enabling you to maintain focus in achieving your goals.

Napoleon Hill even went so far as to say there was a mystical quality created when a mastermind group was formed. He said: “No two minds ever come together without, thereby, creating a third, invisible, intangible force which may be likened to a third mind.”
In other words, your ability to create things in the world is increased by having that invisible “third mind” of the mastermind group.
